when you close your eyes at night …

 

In case you hear me whisper

each time you catch a sight

of something that could make you feel,

in case you feel me shudder

whenever I pretend you’re near,

in case you sense my presnece

and want to sing away my fear,

in case you still remember

and wipe away a tear

of pure regret …
